The SportHill Story

When SportHill founder, Jim Hill, left Virginia to run track and attend college at the University of Oregon, he quickly discovered that his usual cotton sweats and nylon shorts were no match for Oregon’s cold, rainy weather.

While running and racing in Europe, this five-time All-American and World Championship competitor continued to search for clothing more appropriate for Oregon’s climate.

Ultimately he made his own clothing to fill the void. His quest for technically better clothing continued into the outdoor market where he developed 3SP fabric—the fastest drying fabric in the world.

Since 1993, SportHill has been proud to sponsor the Canadian National and Olympic Cross-Country Ski team. In 2002, Beckie Scott glided into the history books wearing SportHill clothing at the Winter Olympics to win North America’s first Gold Medal in cross-country skiing. In 2006, Chandra Crawford won the Gold Medal, with Beckie Scott and Sara Renner winning Olympic Silver Medals the same year. Wearing SportHill apparel, the team is able to train comfortably all winter long in the toughest conditions.
