Only one pocket?
I’m a lifelong fan of the 3SP pant (still rocking my pair from college 13 years strong) and so decided to try this pant because of its windproof qualities. I was not disappointed. Very good fit (medium short - I’m 5’9” 160 pounds) and very warm and comfortable, but not bulky all. Deduct one star for the lack of more than a key pocket.
Fits Like a Tight
The Super XC Pant did not fit as expected. It fits like a tight ... rather than like a pant. So I returned the item after finding the SportHill XC Pant elsewhere. My only critique is that I wish I could have purchased the item from SportHill Direct.
Fit great, feel great
I'm a fan of these pants. They are expensive, but I have also loved putting them on every time. I'm 6'4" and 185 lbs (that means a 34 waist). I went with medium-long. Waist is perfect but they are still probably an inch or two short. Still, there are simply no other medium-long pants on the market so I'll take what I can get.
Disappointed with Mens Super XC Pant
I have two other athletic pants/tights from SportHill that I am very happy with - but not these pants. For some reason these pants/tights pull-down and sag in the crotch which is uncomfortable and resulted in tearing of the crotch after being worn only once. I suspect that the unique knee design of the XC pant forces the pants to pull down. My normal length is 30 inches which is what these pants are marketed as. All three of my SportHill pants/tights are size S and if anything my sizing would be on the large end of S. My other SportHill pants/tights are terrific for running, XC skiing, and cycling- but not these.
Every product if bought from Sporthill
Over the years I’ve used mostly the pants for hiking, xc skiing, camping and just bumming around, they last and last, are comfortable, give in the right places and just generally excellent, definitely my go to pants!!!
An upgrade from the XC 3SP nordic pants
Just received and trialed today my newest version of the Sporthill XC pants. A welcome addition for the go-fast(er) crowd. As stated in the Sporthill narrative, this is a slimmer fitting pant (but not too tight) than the long standing XC pant. The material has more 4-way stretch than the XC pants and the addition of articulating knee overlaps also enhances comfort. Was out and about skiing in 19-21F temperatures with no wind today and was almost too warm while wearing a base layer under it. My only disappointment would be the elimination of the side seam pockets found on the older traditional XC pants. I have used these side pockets for my small compact digital camera and often the other side for energy gels during longer ski sessions.
Super XC Pant
These are my regular outdoors pants during the winter in Bend, OR. They are comfortable and warm even in windy conditions. Sizing note: I'm about 6'00" and found the length just a bit long when I'm wearing running shoes (but not enough to interfere with daily wear).
Super XC Pant
Large long. I'm 6'6", 210 lbs with 36" inseam. These are the perfect fit. First time out thought they might be cold as the fabric is all synthetic but once I got moving they were super comfortable and kept me perfectly regulated. They fit more like tights than pants so I won't be lounging around the house in them but expect they'll see a lot of use on the trails as well as a replacement for long johns while downhill skiing.
Love these pants!
I bought my first pair of these on the advice of a friend who's a cross country skier. I'm a runner and complained about both the deep winter cold and wind (in particular) cutting through my cold weather running pants. I was hesitant the spend the money (these are twice what my most expensive pair of running pants cost), but they were well worth it and I now own two pair, as well as buying two pairs for my wife (who also loves them).
My oldest pair is four years old now. They look and feel like new.
They do a great job of keeping me warm, even on the coldest winter days (in SE PA, that's down to single digits F) and they cut through most breezes very well. These are my go-to pants when the temp is below 32F.
At 5'10" the large short pants fit well. There is one small, but well placed pocket on the hip - great for sticking in my car keys. My wife puts her phone in that pocket. For me that's enough storage.
I'm really happy with these and believe them to be a good value for the money.
Cross country XC Pant
I am 5'10", and the medium short fits perfectly. The articulated knee is right where it should be. These are used for downhill skiing and work perfectly. Initially concerned about the pant not being warm enough and they are warm. Great product quality and it performs beyond my expectation. This is the second pair!!!
