Sizing doesn't measure up.
I'm trying SO HARD to be a supporter of SportHill. Great-looking, long-lasting, quality items! Problem is, advertised lengths do not translate across sizes. For example: a 32" length "ML" is longer than a 32" length "L". So now I have a Medium-Long 32"-length pant that is slightly too tight, while the Large 32"-length pant is a high-water. Frustrating.
Great all winter pant
Great fit and quality. I have been wearing SportHill tights/pants for 30 years. They last forever. These Triplex Slim pants are perfect for most winter runs, except for very cold, below about 15f degrees.
Nice cool weather layer
I've searched long and hard for a replacement for my lightweight, "loose" tights that I use for running and cycling and have finally found my solution. These pants are just the right amount of warmth and are light enough so that they don't soon become a layer to shed. The material has good stretch and the fit is ideal for those of us not competing in the Olympics but still would like something functional and warm.
Maybe the only running pant you need
I hate to admit how long I've worn SportHill running pants. My first pair are probably from the late 1980s. I still have and still occasionally wear those ancient stirrup pants. The Triplex Slim Pants fit and feel much like the originals, but are a little warmer and more wind proof. They also have a large zippered rear pocket which is great for carrying a phone on longer trail runs. And no stirrups! I've worn them almost every day since getting them, on windy 25 degree days to a 60 degree day (drove to do a trail run where it was much warmer than forecast.) They are very comfortable in every situation and look nice enough to wear in town.
MEN’S TRIPLEX SIM PANTS
I have been wearing the original Sporthill stirrup pant since Jim introduced them 30 years ago(?) I still have them in my rotation but I just bought the triplex pant and it takes the stirrup pant into the next century. The material is so soft you could wear them as pajamas and yet is warm and dries instantly. I absolutely love the fit. I am 6' but have a long inseam and the medium long fits me like it was custom tailored for me. I can't recommend these pants enough.
Running Pants
Perfect fit and great for running in cold weather. Ran today at 26 degrees and was very comfortable. Only negative would be the missing side pockets. I do like the zippered back pocket
Men’s Triplex sim pants
I have a pair of these pants and several others over the years. High quality all of them.
One star rating because I ordered size Large and received a Medium. Order form clearly states: LARGE
Package received clearly states: MEDIUM
Very irritating lack of “Attention to Detail”.
Not the SportHill Quality of Old
Like the cut and length of the pants, but the material is extremely thin and seems are poorly sewn. Order and delivery were straight forward and the pants arrived sooner than I had expected, but I will not be buying these again and would not recommend. They are on par with what I could get at Wally or Target and a much higher price. Sorry SH, this one is a miss.
Men’s men’s triplex pants
I literally live in these pants. They look great feel great and wear great
Versatility is Key
Triplex HT is great fabric! It is comfortable across a huge range of temperatures, mid 60s all the way down to the 20s and even teens with a 200gsm merino base layer underneath. I have another pair in the "Voyage" style that I've been wearing for all hiking and running activities for 10+ years, and they still look close to new! Triplex HT is lightweight, breathable, blocks wind and weather, and is simply a great all-around fabric. Now, the Triplex Slim cut is slimmer, as the name implies, and a bit less baggy than my Voyage pants, but the addition of a small zippered pocket is a game changer, for someone who take short runs and hikes without a pack, and wants a place to stash car keys, etc.
I'm 6'1", 170 lbs, low fat with broad shoulders and long-ish legs for my height. I went with size Medium-long and the fit is perfect! Highly recommended.
