The real deal
I purchased a pair of these, and after wearing them once on a 40-degree day with wind chill in the low 30s, I bought another pair immediately. These are warmer than the Nomad pants and much more wind resistant. I'm 6'4"/205 and the large tall fit great, but snug--almost like running tights. I also ordered the XL-tall, and they fit more like sweats. One curious note is that the fabric between the two sizes seems different. The Large-tall are quite stiff, and the fabric has very little stretch. The XL-tall are noticeably softer and have much more stretch. Both perform equally well, so this isn't a complaint, just an observation. For the price you can get two pairs of Nike or UnderArmour pants, but these are MORE than twice as good.
SportHill Rocks!
I recently purchased SportHill’s, XC 3SP pants. I’m about 6’4”, 235lbs and the XL Tall are pretty perfect. I have enough SportHill gear now to have very high expectations and these pants did not break the trend. Orders from SportHill to my Maine home always arrive quickly. The XC pants are very well put together. Stitching appears clean, consistent and secure. The 3SP material seems consistent with my…..? 10 year old 3SP Winter pants (still fully functional- the elastic in the waist is a little tired) I imagine they may be sourced differently but I am not in agreement with others that have suggested they are inferior to older issues from SportHill. The XC pants are really, really comfortable. I find myself coming in from hiking or snowshoeing (primary uses) and leaving them on for the rest of the night. They are cozy and stretchy. For outdoor, winter activities they are very hard to beat. I don’t feel their presence other than being warm and dry. They follow my movements effortlessly. The XC pants are roomier than my 3SP Winter pants and feel closer to a Jean like fit. I think they are just about perfect. I’m about to put them on now to go snowshoeing with the dogs!
Best XC pants
After 15 years ordered my second pair of these. First pair are still going strong but wanted a new pair. Best cold weather XC, snowshoe, or whatever winter fun, pant on the market. Fit great, excellent material, and bombproof. Worth every penny…
XC heavy weight and Sporthill mid-weight pants
heavy wgt pant runs small and especially short in inseam measurement. Compared to my 15 yr old pair that performed magnificently i thought time to by another pair, but the quality and sizing are off.
The mid weight pants fit perfectly for a medium so use that pattern for the heavy wgt(?)
Unfortunately for me there is a fabric flaw in the fabric in mid right thigh that caused the seam to unravel and spread. I will return both!
Very happy with these reliable and good quality pants
I have a pair of 3SP that I bought 12 years ago when I lived in Colorado. Spending the year in northern Ohio and bought a second pair. Both pairs work very well into minus temps, then I layer a pair of thermal underneath. I walk our Huskies 1.5-2 hours every day so warm pants are needed. They do hold onto fur, a lint brush is necessary to keep them clean. The pockets are deep and the zippers keep everything secure. Comfortable waistband for a woman (I buy the men's pants since they fit better). Definitely recommend and appreciate the high quality!
XC 3sp pants
These are great pants. I use them daily when the weather turns when hiking with my dog . They do tend to pill up over continued use but my dog doesn’t seem to care. I’ve had my last pair for about 8 years.
Men's 3SP XC Pant
I have five pairs of these. I do love them. I bought my first pair in the 2000's and honestly they are still going strong despite he fabric thinning from use. In the late 20-teens, about six years ago I bought two more pairs. Sadly, the quality of the zippers appeared to be less than the original. The zippers on the pockets failed first and quite quickly. I sewed them shut. Recently, and it is what inspired this comment, the zippers on the lower leg on these two pairs failed as well. I will sew them closed as well. The fabric on these pairs also appears to not be as tough as the original pair. I am very hard on my gear, I bike, hike, rock climb, ice climb, xc ski, snow shoe and climb trees in them and I used to brag about how tough the fabric was. These new pairs just haven't been as tough. Two years ago, I bought two more pairs, more because I was worried that the pant would be discontinued! I pulled out one pair because I needed something a little more dressy, haha, and my three old pairs all had sewing jobs showing on the buttocks and leg area. This new pair from circa 2024 got a hole in them very fast. This led me to believe the material quality has deteriorated even more. My pair from the 2000's, despite being relegated to winter cycling on muddy and salty roads have held up the best. I do still love the product, though I am somewhat disappointed in the reduced durability I am seeing.
Men's 3SP® XC®
I live in Maryland and have been wearing Sporthill running pants for about five years with great comfort and satisfaction. I have recently purchased Sporthill men’s 3 SP pants. I am very happy with the warmth the quality, the comfort and the adaptability of the running pants that also can be used for skiing. I recommend this product highly!
So comfortable!
Great fit and very comfortable!
Almost Forever
Super high quality! Used for biking, skiing, luge and these pants just wear great. A little thinner than they used to be, but very happy with the quality. A great investment that has never let me down.
